Welcome to Realms Unravelled!
A little information about me: I am from Dorset (or should i say Dorsetshire), a wonderful part of England that once cradled the footsteps of Tolkien during his cherished holidays and sojourns. It's a place steeped in the ancient legacy of Wessex, a heritage I hold dear to my heart.
My fascination with Tolkien's masterpieces ignited when I first delved into the pages of "The Hobbit" as a wide-eyed child. In recent years, my exploration of his expansive universe has deepened, especially after immersing myself in the rich tapestry of "The Silmarillion." My quest for knowledge led me down the winding paths of UA-cam, where I stumbled upon video from other content creators that unravelled the mysteries of Middle-earth.
Thus, inspired by this newfound passion, I embarked on a quest of my own, birthing Realms Unravelled into existence!
Thank you for exploring alongside me!

The Fate of the Ringwraiths: What Happened to the Nazgûl after the Witch King Fell in Battle?
Vilya was given to Gil-Galad, High King of the Noldor. Before the battle of Dagorlad, he gave it to his herald - Elrond.
Wow, a masterful storyteller. Great channel
Why wasnt sauron invisible like frodo when he wore the ring?
Didnt celebrimbor create the rings, also the one
You know what would be cool? A show about all this. If only they could make a cool show about this process and development
Balrogs only answer to one. And his name is Morgoth.
One used to be called Jeff. But that was a long time ago.
My first thought when hearing the part about gandalf speaking about the watcher but not the nameless, was maybe with the watcher he had no choice. Frodo had just avoided a grizzly death and deserved an explanation. But with the nameless there was no obligation to say any more.
Sounds like you’re making most of this up with no clue what’s actually there
Honestly listening to this they did treat Saruman like he had already done something bad 😅 Not to say it justifies anything but still
Sauron: *activates the one ring* Elves: Shit, remove the jewelry. Humans: WREEEEEEEEEEEEE Dwarves: I want pork for lunch.
As an Anna, I deeply approve of that alias.
The inscription is tge black speech written in the faenorean alphabet ( tengwar) as sauron could never truly create beauty, and tthe black speech is ugly expecially when compared to the elven tongues
I like to think that it was his arrogance. He was showing off how powerful he was with The Ring. The Ring itself would strike fear in his enemies, and seeing it together with its Master would have multiplied that effect.
Very well could be taking some of these adjectives too literally. Slinking can be a way to describe sneaking, and gnawing could be describing digging tunnels in any form, not just with jaws, such as when the orcs are described chopping trees as "gnawing, biting..." This could very well be referring to an entire subterranean society that exclusively lives in the shadows under the mountains where no light ever reaches.
What was that famous Caribbean song? Hey Mr. Saruman, tally me a hobbit?
Eh what-
The short answer is... A balrog is a Maiar spirit same as Sauron and they don't answer to him unless they want too
Leave it to Hollywood to muck things up
To the Halls of Mandos.
other then a macguffin? i did not know they had extra story.
Who's the artist?
That's pretty kool and interesting
What kind of prompt text did you use to get all those metaphors?
Whats the chance that "Anor" was just supposed to be Arnor, and it was never caught? If theres never been any correspondence about it, maybe it was literally just an overlooked typo. Arnor is a kingdom of men, also hobbits, gandalf is the wielder of its "flame" - akin to the "flame in their hearts" like his ring. Seems pretty simple if you just assume its a typo
Saruman also allied with sauron to basically get the ring for himself and destroy Sauron that way
Learn something new everyday
I thought the blue wizards were: Alatar and Pallando.
if the ring wraiths are still men, what happens when they fart?
Well, Tolkien was a Christian, and he saw some bad stuff in his life. Christians have a hard time with the concept of anyone being irredeemable and you see it in the stories they create all the time. I went to a Christian university for a while, and every year they have the freshmen attend a speech by a Holocaust survivor (or, they did back then, I think she has passed). And at some point she always addresses the question of whether or not she has forgiven the Nazis, and she would say she thought some of them deserved forgiveness either because they were brainwashed or or traumatized, but that she could not forgive the leadership universally. And we would write papers on whether or not we thought this was a stance in alignment with Christian values. It was very distressing for a lot of the student body.
Thats such a beautiful and poignant illustration of thranduil.
Narya and Vilya was given to Gil-galad, he gave Narya to Cirdan and then much later he gave Vilya to Elrond. Galadriel had her ring from their making.
*Azokh* (ts)
The understanding of our past and the complex fantasy we transfer from there, could end the entity of war. Since all of our realms are corrupted by wrong guidance and the forthtalking misunderstood or properted unclear myth of everything, evolution and time gifted us to analyze. Why do all rulers among humans always fall there? You must be human to slave. Welcome to Planet Earth. Were Rebellion means wizardry.
what is the songtrak he. is using in this video?
They weren't intended to be anything other than an instrument of evil.
So when Gandalf was fighting the balrog…he saw the nameless ones…but they dare not interrupt the fight due to the intensity of the battle…
It is only speculative that the orcs were elves corrupted by Melkor. Their creation is probably meant to be a mystery.
There is to many books and movies where the villain is the dark lord
Boromir... is that you?
It did my head in having azog in the hobbit
rolling eyes with the lovecraft comment.
Mauler? Is that you?
The more I learn about how the books were totally different from the movies, the more I feel like the movies absolutely suck.
Didn't the orcs form the RUSSIAN ARMY? Sauron became Putin.
Balrog: Hey, Olorin, wotcher mate, long time no see! Got time for a quick fencing match?" Gandalf: Sparky! Sure, why not, but we'd better make it quick, I've got saddled with these mortal pests." Balrog: Yuck, what are you doing with them? Gandalf: Oh, this and that. Pissing Sauron off, the usual. Balrog: Oh, is that loser still around? Gandalf: 'Fraid so. Oh, have you still got that awesome swimming pool down in the basement?
Sauron wasn't an Ainur, he was a Maiar. A Morgoth was an Ainur, and sauron was under his "command". Maiars were lower beings to Ainur (Gandalf and saruman and all the wizards were also Maiars)
Melkor* at the time, he took name Morgoth when he stepped on Arda
Well more than jealousy, this would be more like envy
I think what you have in "the nameless things" is a play on the human mind's subconscious undercroft. They're intended to be of an unexplained Lovecraftian nature, yes. But I think they're what Tolkien used to represent the "primal" part of humanity. Not unlike the full-sized raw primal humanities in the Dark Souls 1 DLC.
